How much does emergency plumbing cost?
The call out fee varies and can range from $200 to $400 depending on the emergency and when it occurs. The call out fee will include the diagnosis of the issue and at minimum a temporary fix to ensure the situation is made safe. If further work is required any additional costs will be discussed with you prior to commencing the work.
Can I fix a plumbing emergency myself?
Minor issues, like a blocked toilet or drain, may be manageable with DIY methods. However, significant problems like burst pipes or anything involving gas or sewerage should always be handled by a professional.
If you experience ongoing blockages, it is likely that there is a larger issue that requires further investigation, and it is best to contact your plumber to reduce any further damage and avoid escalating repair costs.
How can I minimise damage during a plumbing emergency?
Act quickly: turn off the water supply, contain leaks with buckets or towels, and move valuables away from the affected area.
Document the damage using photos and videos for insurance purposes. If required, your Plumber can provide a report to your insurer to support a claim for damage caused by plumbing emergencies.
What should I keep in my plumbing emergency kit?
Consider including a plunger, adjustable shifter, pipe tape, a bucket, and towels. Make sure you know where both your water meter is and how to turn off both your water and gas supply.
